Bleeding disorders are a group of disorders that show inability to form a proper blood clot. The 3 most common bleeding disorders are Hemophilia A due to deficiency of Factor VIII; Hemophilia B due to deficiency of Factor IX & von Willebrand disease. Symptoms include excessive uncontrolled bleeding after injury, surgery or during menses. Sometimes the bleeding is spontaneous without any reason. This test is used for pre-operative screening of patients to rule out a bleeding tendency.
