Luteinizing hormone (LH) promotes ovulation at mid part of menstrual cycle, converts the egg / ovum into corpus luteum that in turn promotes production of progesterone hormone in females. Progesterone prepares the uterus for possible pregnancy. In males, it stimulates production of androgens / testosterone. Helps assess reproductive hormone function- Aids in diagnosing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)- Supports evaluation of menstrual irregularities- Assists in fertility assessment and ovulation monitoring.
